Dear Reader,

It's summer, and a about 100 days until election day in the USA. With all the twist and turns in the past few days and weeks, one topic has been a little bit out of focus: security.

We're focusing our upcoming issue on election security, not only in the US, but also in other countries, as more than half of the world's population will take part in an election this year (or already has). Look out for our latest issue in the next few weeks.

But of course, we are covering other topics - anyone mention Crowdstrike? In the near term, we are working on stories about:

  • Have we reached peak ransomware?

  • The danger of dormant accounts

  • The rising subindustry of AI protection

Those stories are near to complete but we are always interested in updating them for inclusion in our issues.

Speaking about our regular issues - we’ve put the election security issue to bed and are now looking at what will be in the next, which will be distributed at the it-sa in Germany in October.  Here’s the list of subjects we are considering for that issue and online. If you're interested in writing on anyone of these subjects, feel free to contact us, we're always looking for guest authors:

  • Counteroffensive technology

  • Security intelligence

  • Quantum encryption

  • Zero Trust methodology

  • Security for the non-technical

  • Security on $100 a month

  • Honest marketing

On that last one, make sure you check the Info-sec.live panel session on “Doing Bad Marketing Better” on the 30th of July with Lou, Andrea Bristol, PR and Marketing campaigns manager at AdaCore; Brenda Christensen, CEO of Stellar Public Relations; and Jeff Josephson, Author of "Lead Generation: The Missing Link Between Marketing and Sales"

And for those marketeers in our audience: starting today, our chief editor Lou Covey will offer media training for your company, marketing folks and PR representatives. Contact us for more information.

Happy reading

Regulations

George Ade allegedly said "To insure peace of mind ignore the rules and regulations". Which might or might not set your mind at ease, but in cybersecurity it might not be such a great idea. Not only for compliance reasons, but generally speaking regulations on cybersecurity will help you secure your business.

Nevertheless, it's hard to keep track of all the regulations in cybersecurity and data privacy these days. Here's a tipp for you, though: follow Cyber Protection Magazine, where we will write about those rules and regulations regularly. Now that's something to insure peace of mind.

The Crucial Role of Regulatory Frameworks in Ensuring Robust Cyber Security
