The internet of things (IoT) will likely change our life significantly. At least there are more and more IoT-devices joining networks, 5G (which is crucial in the adoption of IoT) is in place, and cheaper hardware components become more viable. However, for hardware manufacturers, adding security also increases production costs – which is why manufacturers often neglect security.
