Dear Reader,

We’ve had a very busy start to 2024, including adding the dreaded paywall for premium content and a subscription model, adding a partner program for conference and tradeshow coverage, and digging deeper into issues affecting everyone.

Coverage coming up

For example, one story we are currently finishing up is the murky and dirty world of third-party agreements in the terms and conditions of using apps. That problem is especially dangerous in the healthcare industry but there doesn’t seem to be any legislative or corporate interest in fixing that hole.

We are also about to start on an in-depth coverage of payment card abuse and hacking, and what can be done about it.

Digital issues

We rolled out our first issue of the year focusing on predictions for 2024.  It’s available to subscribers and customers of our primary sponsor, Safety National Insurance, but it is well worth the $24.99 annual subscription fee. There are some truly bold predictions (including a potential crash of the LLM industry).

Our next issue will focus primarily on cyber insurance and depending on whom you talk to, is either a great business to be in or a horrible business. We are going to talk to opinion holders on both. It should be out in time for...

RSAC

Cyber Protection Magazine will be attending the RSA Conference in San Francisco again this year and our chief editor will be dragging his ancient bones around Moscone, but will be severely limiting his meetings to two days and focusing on the following subjects:
  • Cyber Insurance
  • Counteroffensive technology
  • Security intelligence
  • Quantum encryption
  • Election security
  • Zero Trust methodology
  • Honest marketing
Note, there is nothing on the list about AI.  We have enough sources for another issue and just need to get writing about them and, frankly, were kinda bored with the subject.

Happy reading

Lou Covey, Joe Basques and Patrick Boch
