Shimon is a cyber security expert with experience in research and operations, both offensive and defensive. Prior to joining Deep Instinct in 2016 Shimon served for 14 years as an officer in the IDF’s elite cyber unit 8200. Shimon’s background includes a wide range of cyber security and research positions, where he managed multifunctional teams of hackers, researchers and engineers. Shimon led the development of new methods and tools for the analysis of cyber-campaigns, as well as a series of innovative cyber intelligence collection capabilities. Over the years Shimon has worked extensively with a variety of industry, defense and intelligence partners and agencies in North America and Europe. He is a recipient of the President of Israel Award for Outstanding Military Service, holds a B.Sc (Magna Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from Ben Gurion University and MBA (Cum Laude) in Finance and Accounting from Tel Aviv University.

Siegfried Lafon (Sieg) is a Security Senior Manager in Accenture Security Technology Consulting, based in Australia, with over 15 years of extensive experience in the Security field. Sieg is a well-recognised Solution architect with a wide technical level of knowledge across different security domains (IAM, Cloud, Application Security, Information Security policies and processes, Strategy and Cyber Defence) and is passionate about futuristic technologies, innovation and ideas. He loves probabilities, chess, surfing, camping and is an advocate for X-cultural diversity.

Stephen is an experienced Information Security Manager used to working in highly regulated environments, dealing with compliance and legislative challenges from multiple jurisdictions.  Much of Stephen’s career has been spent in financial services; primarily investment banking but also in retail banking, telecoms, utilities and insurance business environments.

Stephen is currently Head of Solutions Architecture at the Smarter SIEM company, Exabeam.  He joined Exabeam from Splunk, where he ran the Financial Services practice and the EMEA Security Practice.  Prior to Splunk, Stephen spent seven years at Barclays where he was the Group Head of Information Security Services.  At Barclays, his team built what was probably the largest SIEM in the commercial world and delivered some of the largest programmes around privilege access management and data governance and control, as well as many other projects.  He was also instrumental in the rapid integration of Lehman Brothers and in helping the bank unify its security organisation across several distinct business units.

Steven’s other key achievements include: creating and running the Deutsche Bank Global Internet Services team; helping Eircom to create a formalised IT governance structure based upon international standards and developing a major e-commerce and trading platform for Standard Bank Offshore.

 

Stephen Moramarco is an Arizona-based freelance writer with more than 20 years of experience writing about technology and the cybersecurity industry.

Steve has over a decade of experience in cyber security and transformation projects, his role at Kenna is to rapidly grow the EMEA organisation to meet the customer demand for risk-based vulnerability management. Prior to Kenna he held senior sales roles at Forcepoint, Citrix and Imperva, focusing on IT solutions for complex, enterprise requirements. Steve has a passion for driving equality, alongside enabling flexibility at work for modern living. He has held steering committee roles in companies looking to close the gender pay gap and develop careers for working parents, and strives to find and support equality initiatives across the workplace and industry.
